Summary
This position is responsible for performing various duties in the accounting department including reconciliation, processing investment transactions and assistance in the preparation of financial reports. In addition, this position will have responsibilities for month-end closing and quarter-end report preparation. Work is performed independently within the framework of standard operating policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of reconciliations of accounts and general ledger accounts.
Assist with preparation of internal, external and regulatory/SEC financial reports, Allowance for credit loss analysis and reporting,
Process general ledger entries for accruals, prepaids; fixed assets; and sales tax.
Assist with the annual preparation of 1099-nec, 1099 div and W-9 tax forms.
Prepare month-end investment reconciliations and quarter-end fair value adjustments.
Prepare market value testing of investment securities on a quarterly basis.
Assist with recording purchase, maturity, paydowns, and sale transactions associated with the bank’s investment portfolio.
Continually evaluate processes and procedures to identify any improvements to increase efficiency.
Assist in various other duties within the department to include quarter-end, month-end, tax, SOX, and audit.
This role ensures the integrity and accuracy of all reports generated.
This position will assist with the preparation of various reports and/or financial statements for the benefit of senior management and the Board of Directors.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintain educational and professional expertise through attendance at job related seminars, conferences and workshops.

Qualifications

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
Possess a four-year college degree from an accredited university or institution with the major area of study in business administration, accounting, finance, or closely related field.
Possess a minimum of at least five years of professional accounting experience, public accounting preferred.
Preference may be given to the individual possessing a Certified Public Accountant’s License.
Intermediate experience with alphanumeric data entry, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word Processing.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, accounting standards, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, or peers.
Other Skills And Abilities
Advanced knowledge of Excel
Experience with database
Self-starter, ability to understand direction and work independently

Has frequent contact with all personnel in various levels in all areas of the Bank.
Has frequent contact with regulators, outside auditors, various individuals at other financial institutions, and investment brokers.
