JOB TITLE: Business Development Director
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Exempt, Salaried
PURPOSE: To foster business sustainability and growth by identifying opportunities, forming partnerships, and adding value through strategic outreach and market development.
AREA OF PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITY: New and existing business development initiatives to drive sustainability and growth.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
Sales
- Research market trends and recommend offers to meet customer needs and HVO's business strategic needs.
- Develop short- and long-term sales forecasts.
- Identify new B2B sales opportunities and enhance existing customer relationships.
- Manage the sales lifecycle from prospecting to implementation.
- Prepare price quotes, contracts, and service obligations.
- Ensure excellent customer service through regular client follow-up and communication.
- Utilize ERP systems to manage sales data effectively.
Marketing
- Update and execute HVO's Marketing Plan annually.
- Lead marketing campaigns via telephonic, email, and digital channels.
- Manage and optimize the Digital Marketing Strategy.
- Oversee all business development-related travel and event participation.
Leadership
- Cultivate positive and long-lasting strategic partnerships to support business sustainability and growth.
- Presents vetted business opportunities to the HVO Sr. Leadership team.
- Maintain and manage all CRM activities.
- Monitor and negotiate contract terms to ensure profitability.
- Collaborate with the CFO to ensure that products meet profitability criteria.
- Work with HVO operations management to determine efficient production processes.
- Manage department budgets and attend board meetings as needed to report progress.
- Create and foster a collaborative environment within HVO.
- Provides consistent and timely communication to the HVO President on business development activities and impacts to HVO.
Additional Duties
- Participate in community activities sponsored by HVO.
- Recommend staffing actions in line with organizational needs.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and organizational policies.
- Abides by the Wireless Device Policy stipulations.
- Conducts travel within HVO's policies and procedures.
- Other duties as required and directed by the HVO President.
Essential Skills and Knowledge
- Strong understanding of medical devices, supply industries, and 3PL business models.
- Expertise in project management and ERP systems.
- Proficiency in communication, presentation, and marketing tools.
- Familiarity with FDA and ISO quality standards.
Minimal Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in business administration, marketing, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in business contract negotiation and product development, particularly in medical device manufacturing.
- Valid NC driver's license and ability to travel internationally.
- Ability to engage effectively with individuals with disabilities.
