As an Electro-Mechanical Engineer I works with systems, networks, and controls pertaining to mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, pneumatic, water, and heat transfer systems. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance production efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality. Electro-Mechanical Engineers play a key role in ensuring processes are designed such that the company’s products are machined and manufactured to meet stringent quality standards and production deadlines.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Utilize sound engineering principles and practices to: Prepare technical documentation including specifications, reports, manuals, technical drawings, and schematics. Analyze and troubleshoot electromechanical systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Research, develop, design, test, program, and integrate off-the-shelf and custom electronic components, sensors, and systems for use in production equipment.
- Direct, coordinate, and perform activities involved in assembly, operation, application, installation, and repair of electromechanical products and systems.
- Support manufacturing equipment and shop production as needed.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to electromechanical systems.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- Minimum of B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Experience with CAD and CAE including the preparation of electrical engineering documentation.
- Experience in reading and designing electrical and mechanical schematics/drawings.
- Experience in using and programming PLCs.
- Knowledge of electro-mechanical machinery components, electrical assembly processes and techniques, design engineering, and industrial standards is essential.
- Must be able to effectively prioritize, organize, and handle multiple projects.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Duties are primarily carried out in an office environment, the manufacturing production floor, and at customer and supplier sites as required. Occasional exposure to fumes, noise, and gases from equipment or machinery may occur. The individual must be able to work in an office setting or on the production floor for extended periods of time and light lifting will be required. Personal protective equipment must be utilized when working on the production floor. Occasional travel to attend meetings and visit customers may be needed.
