We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Shift Manager for our Maintenance team in the Steelmaking/Caster department. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and ensure compliance with maintenance, safety, and environmental standards involving both mechanical and electrical technicians to support steelmaking production objectives.
- Mentor mechanical and electrical technicians in achieving safety, delay, preventative, and predictive maintenance goals.
- Exhibit technical proficiency and expertise in maintaining industrial machinery.
- Conduct administrative tasks such as scheduling teams, generating reports, leading safety meetings, and compiling necessary documentation.
- Advocate for continuous improvement and standardization within maintenance programs and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- In-depth technical knowledge of industrial machinery maintenance.
- Experience with AC/DC motor control, drive packages, and PLCs.
- Strong troubleshooting capabilities and team-building skills.
- Familiarity with hydraulics, water systems, print reading, and machine shop mathematics.
- Proficiency in computer-based maintenance systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Physical capability to lift over 25 pounds and perform various physical activities, such as climbing, kneeling, and bending.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is preferred, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing facility is preferred, or over 10 years of relevant supervisory experience.
- Required industrial/manufacturing mechanical and electrical maintenance experience.
- Experience in a unionized environment is desirable.
