HBK is searching for a Design Manager to join our growing team. This position oversees the day-to-day operations of a design team. The candidate selected for this position will be working with a team of engineers and designers to ensure successful execution of electrical infrastructure projects.

Description :
Oversee the day-to-day production of al distribution power design team and serve a liaison between the design team, project management, and leadership. They are responsible for the successful execution of all departmental Client work.
Thorough understanding of both the technical and financial aspects of distribution design work. Ability to oversee design staff to ensure adherence to quality standards and production metrics.
Applies thorough knowledge of current principles and practices of design engineering as related to a variety of disciplines (civil and electrical) affecting their department.
Applies knowledge and expertise acquired through progressive experience to resolve crucial issues and / or complex conditions.
Keeps up to date and supports implementation of new methods and technological developments affecting their department.
Leads planning, develops budgets, and takes follow-up action relating to design production, engineering tools, software, and new technologies.
Develops strategies and implements training to keep design team members up to date on emerging technologies and standards.
Drives organization’s involvement in broader industry community and takes a leadership role in developing opportunities for connection.
Has working familiarity with and / or preparation of :
Overhead and underground distribution power design projects, specifically on the PECO Distribution System.
AutoCAD Civil3D / LT
Asset Suite 8
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in engineering from an ABET / EAC accredited program.
Minimum 15 years of experience with distribution power engineering and the PECO Distribution System.
Underground electrical transmission experience is preferred, but not required
Essential skills and experience :
Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and / or Microstation
Strong working knowledge of Asset Suite 8
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel).
Ability to work well in a team environment.
Ability to effectively communicate thoughts and ideas.
Ability to understand and interpret multiple different drawing disciplines (civil, electrical, structural, architectural)
Possesses exceptional attention to detail.
Possesses a high level of efficiency.
Possesses a strong work ethic.
