Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Cardiology Coder/biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coding hospital procedures, submitting in office claims, follow-up on denied claims, and general revenue cycle responsibilities
Duties
- Utilize knowledge of medical terminology and codes (ICD-10, ICD-9) to accurately code and submit cardiology claims
- Review and code hospital procedure notes and send claims
- Review and verify patients' insurance coverage
- Process payments from insurance companies and patients
- Communicate with healthcare providers to clarify billing issues
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the billing system
- Handle medical collections when necessary
Requirements
- Coding certification - preferably in Cardiology but will accept general Coding certification with the expectation of getting the Cardiology certification
- Proficiency in medical billing software and systems - Nextgen experience a plus
- Familiarity with medical coding/billing procedures
- Experience in medical office billing processes- ability to read, interpret, and process insurance EOB's
- Strong understanding of full medical revenue cycle process
- Ability to work with sensitive patient information while maintaining confidentiality
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 38 per week
