Job Summary
|
The Human Resources Generalist will participate in the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including talent acquisition, performance management, benefits, and leave administration. This position will work closely with the Chief Human Resources Officer in developing, implementing, and evaluating HR policies, programs, functions and activities. Additionally, this position serves as the HR partner for the Corrections team, working closely with the Chief Corrections Administrator to provide HR guidance and support.

Qualifications and Requirements

A minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources, to include benefits management, leave administration, and talent acquisition experience.

Demonstrated understanding of privacy rights. Must be able to maintain confidentiality in all medical, financial, and other sensitive materials, whether electronic, printed or otherwise.

Essential Functions
|
|

Responsible for the recruitment of all positions, offering proactive recruiting assistance to Departmental Directors, Managers and Supervisors – this includes pre-screening candidates, conducting screening interviews, partnering on in-person interviews, and extending offers of employment.

Responsible for the entire on-boarding process of new employees, including ordering background checks and drug screens, I-9 completion, gathering all employment paperwork, and coordinating the set-up of computer and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) access.

Manages employee benefit programs, including educating employees and answering questions, processing elections and changes in Paycom, ensuring changes are entered into Paycom for open enrollment, and reconciles benefits statements for processing with Finance department.

Coordinates the performance evaluation program, to include assigning reviews, tracking reviews to ensure completion in a timely manner, reviewing and processing compensation adjustments while ensuring compliance with policy, and partnering with the CHRO to address exceptions as necessary.

Manages the FMLA process, including ensuring all required documentation is supplied within the appropriate timelines, requesting additional information when needed, approving/denying requests, keeping managers informed, updating Paycom, and tracking available/remaining time.

Serves as the HR partner for the Corrections team, working closely with the Chief Corrections Administrator to provide employee relations guidance to supervisors and managers in the form of coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions.
