Heart to Heart International (HHI) seeks to improve healthcare access in the US and around the world by ensuring quality care is provided equitably in medically under-resourced communities and in disaster situations.
HHI’s Logistics Department supports hundreds of nonprofits (“partner organizations”) working around the world by providing them with medications, medical supplies, and hygiene items. Each year HHI distributes approximately $200 million of product to hundreds of humanitarian partners in 30 plus countries, including the United States. In addition, the Logistics Team provides procurement, inventory management and shipping support to other program areas of HHI. These programs include Access to Medicines, Disaster Response, Lab Programs, and Hygiene Kits.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Logistics Support
- Manage orders for various partners in the HHI inventory system, as needed.
- Communicate with internal Teams and Warehouse staff regarding inventory levels, timelines, and outbound priorities in order to maximize product placement.
- Arrange international and domestic transportation, ensuring compliance with consignee requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams, transportation providers, and recipient site representatives to ensure timely delivery of orders across all programs.
Procurement
- Research pricing and make product purchases as required in accordance with HHI policy and procedure.
- Monitor inventory levels and initiate reorder processes to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Ensure the product being purchased meets the technical specs of the kit, program or project.
- Ensure that suppliers can deliver goods and services in the agreed quantities, in a timely manner, while observing quality measures.
- Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with HHI’s policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with warehouse and finance department to reconcile receipts, invoices, and purchase orders.
Other Duties as Assigned
- Manage special projects or initiatives, as assigned by the Manager.
- Provides logistics support to HHI programs organization-wide when required
- Represent HHI with professionalism in all dealings with partners, contractors, vendors, volunteers, etc.

REQUIREMENTS
- Education & Experience - Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Logistics, Business, International Studies, or related field from four-year college or university; or at least six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Critical Thinking and Problem Solving – Utilizes critical thinking and analytical skills with attention to detail working within structured and established procedures. When relevant, recommends process improvements and changes to established procedures. Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Technical - Proficiency in database usage, spreadsheet functions, word processing, and integrated software suites, specifically in MS Excel and MS Word.
