Description
This position will serve as clerical support for the clinical staff at Broad Street location and all other offices at Helen Farabee Centers.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Greet and direct the general public and consumers to appropriate clinical staff members or pertinent department(s). Receive and direct phone calls to appropriate staff members, departments, or offices. Position will perform complex data entry using multiple computer programs to: complete all required client activation paperwork and financial forms, will review and confirm all insurances for each new or updated consumer information, schedule appointments, complete necessary correspondence, run reports from various computer programs, receive, pick-up and distribute mail, etc. This position requires initiative, excellent public relations and communication, organizational skills, and the ability to interact in a professional manner with a variety of staff members, consumers, family members, and community agencies. Work is performed with minimal supervision within established guidelines, policies, and procedures. Must attend all appropriate meetings.
Possibly subject to federal vaccination mandate, including provisions for claiming exemptions. Qualifications
Education, Training, and Experience
Graduation from standard high school or equivalent. Must possess working knowledge of network computers, fax machine, and copier. Minimum typing speed of 40wpm. Must have valid drivers license and be insurable to drive Center vehicles. Must pass and maintain all Center mandated trainings.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to read and proof correspondence, reports, computer printouts, etc.
- Excellent spelling and grammar. Ability to write memos, letters, various complex reports, miscellaneous documents.
- Ability to perform addition and subtraction. Ability to count money.
- Ability to complete financial assessments following procedure set out by TDMHMR.
- Ability to relate to verbal instructions, communicate in a courteous and effective fashion with co-workers, consumers and families, agencies and the public.
- Skilled in the use of personal and network computers, word processing, database, spreadsheet and office management software (Microsoft Office), SmartCare, and familiarity with CARE.
- Ability to use copy machine, fax machine, computer, printer, and multi-line telephone.
