Position: Program Manager, Beauty
Department: Engineering
Work Location: Marlborough, MA, Hybrid (work 3 days onsite)
Hybrid Schedule: At Helen of Troy, we embrace a flexible hybrid work model designed to support collaboration and productivity. For roles eligible for hybrid work, our standard schedule includes in-office collaboration from Tuesday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. What you will be doing:
As a Program Manager, you will be responsible for leading the successful delivery of projects that drive our strategic direction and goals. You are the cross-functional leader of your program team, and you will drive accountability and engage the team to ensure the proper execution of our development objectives. You will manage the development process from concept to go-to-market and be accountable for the day-to-day new product development activities for leading beauty brands, such as Drybar, Hot Tools, Curlsmith, and Revlon. Utilizing risk management techniques, you will equip your team with known issues, identify potential parallel paths, and guide them to address unknown risks in a way that mitigates impact to our time to market and effectively communicates our action plan to the executive leadership team. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated project management delivering beauty appliances on time, within budget, and within quality standards.
Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple concurrent development projects for beauty.
Own the full project life cycle from intake to delivery and act as the primary source of contact for cross functional partners.
Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
Communicate and collaborate cross-functionally between all key departments (marketing, product development, engineering, design, manufacturing, overseas partners).
Facilitate meetings and design reviews, capturing key ideas, decisions, issues, and action items in meeting notes.
Regularly report project status, milestones, and key metrics to stakeholders.
Manage project risks and develop mitigation strategies as needed.
Monitor project progress, identify dependencies and proactively address roadblocks.
Proactively identify and make recommendations to solve problems, roadblocks, and/or bottlenecks.
Drive timely decision making; capture and communicate its impact on risk, cost and schedule.
Lead project review meetings and communicate to the leadership team on key milestones, and project risks.
Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
Ensure product documentation and specifications are available as needed during development and post-launch.
Efficiently maintain, identify and implement new divisional processes, systems, and tools. Navigate complex processes and lead others in improvements.
Skills needed to be successful in this role:
Proven experience in program or project management, preferably in the consumer electronics or beauty industry.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects from initiation to completion.
Demonstrated delivery of projects within budget and schedule constraints in a fast-paced environment
Strong understanding of product development processes, including design, engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance.
Utilize clear, effective, and open communication to strengthen team relations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
3 years in project management or technical program management in the consumer product development and/or high-volume consumable manufacturing environment
Solid Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook Proficiency
Experience in Project Management Software (e.g. Smartsheet, Basecamp, or similar.)
Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
Preferred Qualifications:
A passion for developing innovative and consumer-centric beauty products
Engineering or technical degree
Beauty cosmetics experience
PMP certification or equivalent
