Helping Hands Project Organization is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Grant Writer & Contract Specialist to join our team. This is a hybrid position and the position will play a key role in grants administration and contract management. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with reporting standards, manage timely activations and closeouts, and collaborate with Department Directors and Project Leads to meet administrative requirements for both federal and non-federal grants and contracts. This position will also research, write and manage applications for funding to support existing and future projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, analyze, and monitor private and public funding opportunities for existing programs as well as potential expansions or new initiatives.
- Manage the workload to ensure deadlines are met and applications are thoroughly reviewed and refined before submission.
- Collaborate with agency staff and leadership to draft, compile, and edit grant proposals.
- Partner with the Director of Development to establish and oversee supplemental grant writing resources for the organization.
- Conduct research and gather relevant data to support proposal components, including need statements, objectives, and evaluation metrics.
- Facilitate coordination of grant applications with community partners and the organization.
- Support program staff with post-award activities such as reporting, invoicing, and ensuring adherence to contract agreements and project scope.
- Perform additional duties as required or assigned by the supervisor.
Experience
- Two years’ experience in research, grant development, and proposal writing, preferably in a government or non-profit agency, including writing grants as part of your work as part of program leadership work.
- Demonstrated experience developing programs and writing grants for new funding opportunities related to housing, homelessness, and culturally responsive services.
- Experience working with budgeting, data management, research protocol and compliance requirements.
