Join Our League of Leaders

Hemlock Public School District is seeking an exceptional instructional leader to join our dynamic team of building principals. While we have a current vacancy at the middle school level, we are open to considering candidates with expertise at the elementary, middle, or high school levels. We have an exceptional team of leaders who are adaptable and responsive to evolving needs, and we value flexibility and collaboration. Our priority is finding the best possible candidate to support both the district and individual building goals, and we are willing to adjust to find the best fit for the right candidate and our district.

What Sets Us Apart:  At Hemlock Public School District, leadership is not just a role—it is a shared commitment to student success. Our principals work as a cohesive team, collaborating to share best practices, support one another’s growth, and ensure a unified vision across all grade levels. We foster a culture of continuous improvement, embracing flexibility and innovation to adapt to the evolving needs of our students. New ideas and creative approaches are not only welcomed but encouraged, allowing our educators to implement strategies that make a real difference. Above all, we are deeply committed to excellence, empowering our leaders to create dynamic and engaging learning environments where every student has the opportunity to thrive. At Hemlock, you will be part of a team that values collaboration, innovation, and a relentless dedication to student achievement.

The Ideal Candidate:  The ideal candidate for this role is an educator who is deeply passionate about student learning and understands the transformative power of strong relationships in fostering academic and personal growth. This candidate should possess a valid School Administrator Certificate. As an instructional leader, this individual will possess a solid foundation in curriculum development and best teaching practices, equipping them to inspire and support teachers in delivering engaging, high-quality instruction. A data-driven mindset will be essential, as they will use student performance metrics to inform instruction, track progress, and implement strategies for continuous school improvement. Beyond academics, this candidate must be a skilled relationship builder, demonstrating exceptional interpersonal abilities and the capacity to collaborate effectively with students, staff, parents, and the broader community. With a minimum of three years of experience at the principal or assistant principal level, the ideal candidate will have a proven track record of fostering a positive, student-centered learning environment where all students are empowered to reach their full potential.

Responsibilities The principal will be responsible for championing a culture of excellence and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel supported and empowered to succeed. Supported by the Director of Curriculum and Instruction, the principal will ensure district systems and frameworks are implemented at the building level. Leading the development and implementation of a rigorous and relevant curriculum, they will ensure instructional practices align with academic standards and best teaching methodologies. A key aspect of this role involves utilizing data-driven decision-making to monitor student progress, identify areas for growth, and implement strategies that drive continuous improvement. Building a collaborative school community is essential, requiring strong relationship-building skills to engage with students, staff, parents, and community members in meaningful and productive ways. Additionally, the principal will mentor and guide a dedicated team of educators, providing ongoing professional development opportunities, support, and encouragement to enhance instructional effectiveness and student outcomes.
