Position Overview
The Process Technical Engineer will focus on improving machining methods and processes within the production environment, with an emphasis on aluminum die casting. This role is heavily concentrated on CNC operations (80%), including programming and optimizing machining processes, with additional responsibilities related to automation systems (20%), such as integrating robotics and supporting production automation initiatives. The engineer will work on new projects, identify process improvements, and ensure all operations meet production goals for quality, efficiency, and scrap reduction. Collaboration with quality, programming, and production teams is key to developing and optimizing manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and improve machining processes for aluminum die casting, including designing fixtures and machining tools.
- Program horizontal and vertical CNC milling machines and CNC lathes.
- Work with quality engineers to troubleshoot and resolve customer complaints by identifying root causes.
- Implement and monitor 5S programs in the engineering department to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Create detailed product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data.
- Set up production equipment and machining cells to meet customer timing and quality standards.
- Train set-up technicians on new production systems and processes.
- Develop and maintain maintenance schedules for production equipment in line with manufacturer recommendations.
- Track and assess key metrics, including scrap rates, cycle times, and equipment efficiency, to drive improvements.
- Ensure compliance with approved methods and quality standards throughout production.
- Coordinate the installation of production equipment and production cells as needed.
