What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Clerk position at Henniges Automotive?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Process hourly and salaried payroll.
· Daily input and pre-audit data for hourly payroll and file maintenance (time and attendance).
· Compiles payroll data such as hours worked, taxes, insurance to be withheld, and employee identification number, from time sheets and other records.
· Ensures accurate preparation, balancing and processing of weekly and special payroll, wage garnishments and any other payroll related items.
· Prepare weekly/monthly reports as required.
· Assist in payroll related balance sheet account reconciliations.
· Prepare and Input journal entries for hourly and salaried payroll.
· Backup for hourly expense report processing.
· Coordinate all travel for the facility.
· Assist with accounts receivable.
· Assist with the process of invoices through accounts payable including bank reconciliation.
· Responsible for petty cash.
· Maintain monthly cash log.
· Review & code weekly freight invoices including small package shipments.
· Assist with internal and external audits.
· Answer incoming calls as phone operator.
· Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
Minimum: High school education
Preferred: Associate’s degree
Prefer payroll/accounting experience.
Must maintain a high degree of accuracy.
Must be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant software.
Must be friendly and approachable with a desire to help people.
Must be able to multi-task.
Must handle all information confidentially and competently
