Responsibilities- A Nutrition Services Aide assists the cooks and other nutrition services department personnel in areas such as washing dishes, answering the room service phone line, delivering patient trays, food preparation, food storage, cleaning, stocking, and operating the cash register. The Nutrition Services Aide must always follow safe food handling practices. In addition, the employee must understand prescribed therapeutic and modified diets.
Qualifications- Requirements for the position include: applicant must be at least 16 years of age, have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and have the ability to write simple correspondences and speak in sentences. It is preferred the applicant is ServSafe Certified. It is preferred that the applicant has a High School diploma or equivalent training or up to one-year related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience and has prior experience in food service and commercial food preparation and following prescribed diets.
