Team Leader - Nutrition Services - Toledo Hospital - Full Time

Position Summary:

Oversees food and nutrition daily services. Ensures that meals are prepared in a regular and consistent manner so that food quality standards are met. Assists in ensuring a safe working environment throughout the department.

Accountabilities:

• Supports nutrition production which may include cafeteria, patient services, catering and /or retail.
• Supports supervisor in collecting data for department records and reports as needed. Supports supervisor in the continuing education and development of the nutrition staff.
• Supervises day-to-day work activities by assigning, prioritizing and monitoring operating standards.
• Trains new employees on departmental procedures, equipment, kitchen safety, competency assessment and quality.
• Identifies problems and recommends solutions related to work flow.
• Maximizes cost efficiency and productivity in the use of all resources of the department and organization.
• Attends all required department events, staff meetings, and any other job-related functions. Attends and successfully completes all mandatory trainings.
• Communicates and interacts with co-workers and all others in a pleasant and professional manner at all times.
• Participates as a team player in all phases of the organization: and is open and responsive to change.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Education: HS Diploma/GED.
• Skills: Basic computer knowledge is required. Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
• Years of Experience: Minimum of one year related food service, dining or kitchen experience is required.

Additional Experience:

• Ability to function in a team environment. Ability to respond effectively and efficiently to crucial situations involving patient, personnel and visitors in a professional manner.

Working Conditions:

• Physical Demands: Must be able to move about the hospital and between work stations; and prolonged periods of standing. Must be able to to frequently move, lift or carry materials medium to heavy weight equipment, materials. Weighing up to 30 lbs., 20% of the time.
