What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Test Engineer position at HERE Technologies?
What's the role?
As a Senior Test Engineer in the Map Processing Pipelines team you will test smart Map Data processing tools. From one side we support backed processes of https://mapcreator.here.com/ which allows users to put their improvements to Here map. Our toolset reviews these changes and helps to make decisions if they could be automatically applied to Here map or require manual check.
In addition to that we are building a new solution for private maps built on Here map. In this team we mainly focus on conflation (adding client data to such map) and rebase (refreshing a private map by new snapshot of Here data).
This role is mainly for work on Universal Ref System new feature.

Must have:
- Strong testing focus. Ability to find issues in solution pretending to be ready.
- Knowledge about preparation and execution of test plan
- Good knowledge of using issue tracking tools (e.g. JIRA), code collaboration tools (e.g. Git/GitLab) and team collaboration tools (e.g. Confluence/Wiki).
- Ability to use QGIS or ArcGIS solution to check quality of the map.
- Basic knowledge of test automation and an openness to developing in this area in the future
- Self-motivated, well-organized, details-oriented and a strong team player with an agile mindset
- Very good communication skills in English both written and spoken
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Splunk log search skill
- Familiar with GEO JSON format
- Experience in usage of REST based web service technologies – for example calling them from PostMan
- Python skills
- Ability to write unit tests in Javal or Scala
- Knowledge of FME tool for data conversion
- SQL skills, with a strong preference on PostgreSQL / PostGIS
- Familiar with geo-spatial-standards (e.g. Spatial Features Specification, GeoTIFF)
