This is a full-time night shift position with the hours of 11:00pm-7:30am.
Job Summary
The Security Concierge Department operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and services the HCK community. Concierge Assistants monitor the security systems at the facilities and maintain a log detailing events and incidents of each shift. Assistants also perform daily work assignments as directed and cooperates with other departments within the organization to provide continuous hospitality and safety throughout the entire campus. Campus Concierge provides a positive first impression for residents, visitors and staff through positive interactions and personal appearance of self and work areas.
Major Responsibilities
- Provide customer service and hospitality to residents and guests. Be approachable, helpful, and greet individuals with a smile.
- Complete resident door tag safety checks and resident well checks as needed.
- Provide valet service for residents in Independent Living.
- Assist Homecare department as needed with Independent Living resident needs.
- Provide a safe environment for residents through snow removal, salting entrance ways for ice removal, and picking up trash and litter.
- Remove trash and recycling and clean and maintain cleanliness of the bins.
- Complete minor, routine maintenance work and housekeeping. Notify maintenance technician for items related to the safety and security of residents, visitors, and staff.
- Completes room set-up/take down of activities and room arrangements.
- Provide independent living front desk coverage which includes monitoring fire alarm systems, safety pendant system for residents, telephone system, and front entry access.
- Monitors and implements the campus parking policy for all of campus.
Required Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Michigan State Driver’s License and obtain a chauffer's license within 30 days of hire.
- Must be CPR/AED certified or become CPR certified within 2 months of hire.
Knowledge and Critical Skills / Expertise
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and the public.
- Computer knowledge and proficiency with security systems.
- Ensure safety and able to provide basic first aid assistance.
- Organize, maintain, and fill out records and reports completely and accurately.
- Ability to use critical thinking skills in stressful situations, and to make independent and good judgement decisions within proper policy and procedures.
- Capable of using good judgment in assessing problem situations and when to involve supervisory staff, emergency services, and law enforcement agencies when appropriate.
Essential Physical Functions
- Able to lift 50 pounds and tolerate walking distances of 5 miles per day.
- Ability to tolerate walking distances of 5 miles per day.
- Ability to bend, lift, squat, and climb.
