Role Summary

Cyderes is looking for a Finance Manager, Revenue who is technical and enjoys partnering closely with operations. Reporting to the VP Finance, Global Controller, the Finance Manager, Revenue will be responsible for the appropriateness of the revenue and margins for the company by designing and reviewing reports, implementing SOX controls, and collaborating with Sales, Professional Services, Managed Services, IT and Legal Departments’ leadership. The position will be based in Toronto, Canada, and it will be hybrid, with 1 day in the office.


Primary Responsibilities:

Operations

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Service Delivery leadership, and Finance Manger, Revenue Operations to optimize the revenue recognition and order-to-cash cycle.
  • Review customer contracts and sales documentation for key terms impacting cash flow and revenue recognition
  • Participate in the design and implementation of Order to Cash related financial controls
  • Recommend various business process improvements that will streamline the revenue & COGS close process.
  • Assist in integration of new acquisitions, ASPE to US GAAP conversion and implementation of system enhancements


Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Responsible for timely and accurate completion of the monthly and quarterly closing process as it relates to revenue recognition, COGS accruals, services margins, and deferred revenue.
  • Perform technical research on revenue recognition and / or other complex accounting issues, and provide accounting consultation advice to business partners under ASPE & US GAAP accounting standards
  • Prepare and update revenue recognition whitepapers
  • Build, prepare and present revenue and margin reports. Analyze results and present key trends and findings to senior management
  • Collaborate closely with Service Delivery Management team to ensure project percentage complete assumptions applied are GAAP compliant
  • Reconcile order-to-cash cycle key balance sheet accounts. Investigate and resolve reconciling variances
  • Work closely with the Company’s external independent auditors during the year-end audit


Desired Skills and Experiences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting
  • CPA, Big 4 Accounting experience preferred
  • 5 years of Finance and Accounting experience
  • SaaS / Multiple-element arrangement / percentage of completion revenue recognition experience, including VSOE analysis
  • Excel proficiency and experience with ERP systems for meaningful reporting
  • Enjoys a high change environment where contributions make an immediate difference
  • Highly effective project management, prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management skills to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work with non-finance team members to communicate financial results

  • Experience with NetSuite, SalesForce, Adaptive an asset
