Heron Hill Winery's Tasting Room on Canandaigua Lake is looking for seasonal part-time staff in the tasting room to join our team and represent the winery on Canandaigua Lake and to serve a variety of customers local, across the U.S and world-wide.
Our tasting room staff are articulate, hard-working, self-motivated, customer-oriented, and above all, enjoy working with the public. Relevant experience is a plus, but we are happy to train people with strong work-ethic who want to learn and gain knowledge and experience. Candidates must be over the age of 21, have weekend availability and can lift 40 lbs.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Greet and properly serve wines for guests:
o Inform and educate through describing wines, communicating winemaking techniques, winery history and Heron Hill points of difference, specific to each patron’s interests and needs
o Sell wines by educating and assisting the customer in making purchasing decisions
o Promote and sell elevated tasting experiences, Wine Club memberships and special events at the winery
o Accurately process transactions using a POS computer system
o Perform daily cleaning and facility maintenance duties
o Wash and polish glassware
o Assist with special events in the Tasting Room
o Other duties as assigned by Manager
Qualifications
Demonstrate outstanding customer service skills:
o Effectively communicate with diverse clientele
o Accurately handle customer transactions, including cash register and daily accounting
o Ability to provide quality and proper service of multiple guests or groups at once
o Must be minimum 21 years of age and have a valid driver's license
o MUST BE ABLE TO WORK SPRING THROUGH FALL, ON WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS, AS REQUIRED.
o Basic wine knowledge and familiarity with the New York State wine industry
o Passion for wine
o Professional appearance and demeanor
o Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
o Able to lift cases of wine (40 pounds)
