We are working with a fantastic firm that is in-house real estate counsel for a major Private Equity Company whose platform is focused on investing in real estate assets in top markets within the United States in partnership with institutional investors.


You get the best of both worlds – complex and sophisticated work, in-house lifestyle (“billing” one client only 1500-1600 hours), and the compensation will be very good – (most attorneys have come from “biglaw”).


The Real Estate Attorney will assist with all legal matters for this Private Equity Company, including real estate transactions, leasing, property management, construction, and general corporate legal matters. The Private Equity Company is in an acquisition mode and rapidly growing.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Transaction Matters: Handling major acquisitions and dispositions from start to finish including drafting and negotiating REAs.


  • Financing Matters: Handling major finance transactions from start to finish.


  • Lease Matters: Negotiating major retail and logistic leases.


  • Construction and Development Matters: Supporting PE’s construction and development group with all construction and development-related matters, including construction agreements.


  • Corporate Matters: Preparing corporate organizational documents and advising on corporate transactional matters.


  • Title, Survey and Due Diligence: Supervising the review and analysis of title, survey and due diligence matters.


  • Consulting: Working directly with PE’s senior management and leadership to provide advice on various legal matters. Developing and implementing best practices and process improvements.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Client is looking for a junior-mid-level experience level for this position
  • Admitted to practice in the State of Florida or willing to sit for the Florida Bar exam within a reasonable period after hiring.
  • Experience in commercial real estate, preferably in a large law firm environment representing real estate private equity funds and/or other institutional owners and investors.
  • Experience in an in-house legal environment also valued, but not required.
  • Experience with retail assets a plus.
  • Practical-minded business attorney who is a team player, enthusiastic, energetic, proactive, responsive and service-driven.
  • Must be able to build strong personal relationships with PE Team, be highly organized, have exceptional written and oral communication skills, be detail oriented and be able to take on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, have a can-do attitude and be able to work on short deadlines when required.
