The Tasting Room Manager builds and supports our estate tasting experiences team to execute our vision to surprise and delight our guests. This hospitality team is an extension of our marketing strategy that brings our brands to life with extraordinary and unique experiences. The core mission is to deliver our guest experiences at a five-star professional hospitality standard, while underscored with a comprehensive sales approach to increase retail revenue and wine club memberships.
The Tasting Room Manager will support the team to create an exceptional guest experience that maximizes sales revenue and wine club membership conversion, while also creating memorable and shareable experiences that will drive social media engagement and establish the winery as the premier Napa Valley destination.
Requirements:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directly manages a multi-dimensional hospitality team, while ensuring smooth operations across all retail avenues – experiences, events, gift shop, and art gallery. Provides boots-on-the-ground leadership, ensuring outstanding customer service across all areas of hospitality operations.
- Cultivating a high-performance team that meets targets and championing their growth by providing timely feedback, embracing the culture of yes.
- Able to execute change, while displaying a can-do attitude. Proven financial dexterity and ability to grasp the bigger picture. Consummate team-player.
- A champion for the brand, and imbibing a strong affinity to wine, food and art.
- An exemplary host on the team that delivers excellent guest experience and organically drives sales and club conversion.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across departments and teams to drive joint initiatives. Ability to be a strong liaison between the team and the department head.
- Managing staff schedules while flexing up or down based on business needs. Responsible for maintaining timecards and processing payroll.
- Delivering pre-service morning meetings to ensure clear communication and setting a motivational tone for the day.
- Managing all movement of inventory - addressing order corrections and exceptions, maintaining strong communication with our warehouse fulfilment team, and working with the accounting team to ensure compatibility of SKUs and inventory.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to maintain a regular work schedule of 40 hours per week including weekends; available for evening and/or holiday work as needed
- Practiced in high touch hospitality. At least 5-7 years of relevant work experience managing a hospitality team in a luxury setting at a winery, restaurant or retail environment.
- College degree is a plus; or equivalent experience in DTC
- Outgoing, enthusiastic, team-oriented
- Attention to detail, takes pride in work, and aspires to maintain continual personal and professional growth
- Must have outstanding organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Must have expertise in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with MailChimp, Tock, WordPress, Google Analytics, Commerce7, and similar software a plus
- Must have excellent customer service, written and oral communication skills
- Must demonstrate versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm

This role’s compensation is anticipated to fit within the range of $70,000 to $85,000 annual salary. These figures represent what we reasonably expect to pay for this position, but the actual compensation offered will depend upon numerous job-related factors, including but not limited to candidate skills, experience, knowledge and education.
