Position Overview:
The Clinical Director will oversee our new and developing Silver Spring location, ensuring the delivery of ethical, client-centered, and effective mental health services. This role involves hiring and supervising clinical staff, maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations, and driving program development to meet the needs of our clients and community. The ideal candidate will bring leadership, innovation, and a passion for improving mental health outcomes. They will provide high-quality metric tracking, well-versed supervision practices, ensure quality of care and commit to professional development of the team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Clinical Leadership and Oversight
o Provide clinical supervision, guidance, and mentorship to licensed and non-licensed clinicians involving review of clinical documentation, consultation on the provision of care, and advisement on quality of service
o Oversee client care standards, ensuring effective treatment planning, monitoring, and outcomes evaluation.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
o Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as professional ethical standards.
o Develop, implement, and oversee quality assurance initiatives to ensure the highest standard of care.
o Manage clinical documentation, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and adherence to organizational policies.
Program Development and Implementation
o Design and implement new programs and services to address emerging client and community needs.
o Collaborate with leadership to align clinical services with organizational goals and strategic plans.
o Participate in monthly Directors Team meetings to develop strategies, priorities, and policies to enhance the agency’s goals and objectives in meeting consumer needs
o Develop & Design effective systems to track progress and regularly evaluate program components to measure success; communicate findings to board members, funders, and other constituents.
Team Management and Collaboration
o Lead the recruitment, onboarding, and development of clinical staff.
o Conduct regular team meetings and foster an environment of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
o Act as a liaison between clinical staff and other organizational departments.
Community and Stakeholder Engagement
o Represent the organization at community meetings, conferences, and networking events as needed.
o Monitor public policy issues impacting behavioral health services.
o Support marketing and outreach efforts to promote the organization’s services.
Required Qualifications
· Master’s or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
· Active and unrestricted licensure (e.g., LCSW-C, LCPC, or equivalent) and an approved supervisor in Maryland.
· Five (5) years of Senior Management experience with a proven track record in mental health.
· A minimum of 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
· Strong knowledge of mental health treatment modalities, clinical best practices, and ethical standards.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal & written).
· CPR and First Aid certification (or willing to obtain within 6 months of employment).
Preferred Qualifications
· Excellent leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
· Two (2) years proven track record in strategic planning & development of special programs.
· Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to engage with diverse stakeholders.
· Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and data management.
· Familiarity with managed care and funding sources, including Medicaid, private insurance, and grants.
· Leadership, coaching, and relationship management.
· Ability to create budgets to achieve agency objectives.
· Available to work around various schedules as needed (i.e. evening or weekend events, or agency related activities).
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
· Ensure direct reports maintain 25 weekly billables.
· Timely completion of documentation within 24 hours of session delivery.
· Positive client feedback and measurable progress toward treatment goals.
· Active participation in team meetings and professional development opportunities.
Physical and Technical Requirements
· Ability to work in an office setting and attend meetings in-person or virtually.
· Ability to sit for long periods of time at a desk, in conferences, in sessions etc.
