Job Description: Overview: The Lathe Machine Operator plays a crucial role in our manufacturing operations, utilizing advanced lathe machines to produce intricate and high-precision components. This position requires expertise in CNC programming, setup, and operation to ensure the quality and efficiency of our production processes.
B Shift: Sunday- Wednesday 8:00PM-6:00AM
B Shift employees are eligible for a 15% shift premium, which is added to their base hourly wage for every hour worked during this shift.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program, set up, and operate CNC lathe machines to fabricate complex components according to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Monitor machine performance and adjust cutting parameters as necessary to optimize production efficiency and maintain dimensional accuracy.
- Conduct thorough inspections of machined parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues, ensuring continuous process improvement.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a CNC machinist or lathe operator with expertise in lathe machining.
- Strong technical knowledge of CNC programming, tooling, and machining practices.
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and geometric tolerances (GD&T).
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to quality.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in CNC machining is preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in CNC milling with a focus on lathe machines.
