Overview:

Make a positive, lasting impact through design with this great opportunity for professional growth as a Project Architect at HGA, a national interdisciplinary, award-winning design firm. In this position you will be working closely with the Design Principal and Project Manager along with an integrated team of design professionals developing design concepts into high quality documents with clients that serve the arts, our communities and higher education campuses.

In this role you will:

  • Develop a thorough understanding of projects’ design philosophy and provide major input in developing a design and building performance strategy, effectively conveying this to assigned team members;
  • Provide technical design input and support for the development of the entire design concept, including design development, project coordination, and quality control efforts during all phases of the project work:
  • Seek creative and innovative solutions to assigned tasks and develop appropriate research and documents to support this solution;
  • Actively collaborate with and coordinate work of other disciplines, consultants and knowledge resources to ensure the project deliverables are coordinated, integrated, and support the design concept and performance goals of the project;
  • Contribute to the preparation of design documents and lead the detailed development of construction documents during all project phases, delivering complete, accurate and coordinated project documentation;
  • Advance the production of schematic, design development and construction document drawings and specifications in compliance with project scope, schedule, budget, and design intent;
  • Review and aid coordination of project documents with relevant Building Codes, City Planning/Zoning ordinances and similar requirements for Authorities Having Jurisdiction;
  • Maintain awareness of evolving building technology and systems;
  • Review shop drawings, material samples and Construction Documents for conformance with design;
  • Perform construction administration duties (e.g., RFI’s, RFP’s, change orders, etc.); and
  • Maintain contact with clients, consultants, and contractors during all project phases, participating in marketing, client and owner presentations as required.
  • You will need to have:

    • Bachelor's degree in Architecture

    • 8-15 years of experience working in an architecture firm on small to large scale project types• Proficiency with Revit• Knowledge of building codes, design & construction standards, and efficient construction techniques for a variety of building types• An interest in working in all stages of the design process• Excellent verbal and written communication skills• Problem-solving skills, attention to detail and motivation to learn• Collaborative and professional work ethic• Strong graphic skills• Effective planning and organizational skills for our fast-paced environment

    • Expertise with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite products B

     

    Additional Qualifications (value-add, not required)

    • Master’s degree in architecture preferred• LEED accreditation preferred • Knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp and other industry accepted software• Architecture license or significant progress towards licensure

    Salary Information:

    The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGA’s robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short- and long-term disability programs. Salary range: $90,400-$131,400
