Are you ready to inspire the next generation of innovators and creators? As a Spring Break S.T.E.A.M. Camp Instructor, you’ll play a key role in delivering an exciting and engaging camp experience for our students. From leading small groups through hands-on, project-based activities to sparking curiosity in STEM, art, and writing, your classroom will be buzzing with exploration and creativity.
You’ll have the support of a dedicated assistant and administrative staff to ensure everything runs smoothly. With a fully prepared curriculum ready to go, all you need to do is bring your enthusiasm and passion for teaching!
Our camp offers three mixed-age classes for students in grades K-6. Two classes have a maximum of 8 students, and the third class accommodates up to 12 students—ensuring a supportive and manageable environment. Each class is led by a teacher and supported by an assistant to maximize engagement and success.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead interactive, project-based lessons that seamlessly integrate STEM, art, and writing.
- Foster an inclusive and engaging classroom environment that inspires creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration.
- Supervise and guide a small group of students, ensuring a safe, positive, and enriching learning experience.
- Work closely with classroom assistants to provide tailored support and attention to individual student needs.
- Adapt the camp curriculum as needed to align with the unique interests and learning styles of camp participants.
- Participate in preparation meetings, training, and review curriculum materials in advance to ensure smooth and effective lesson delivery.
- Maintain a positive, enthusiastic demeanor to create a fun and motivating atmosphere throughout the camp.
- Serve as a mentor to campers, encouraging a growth mindset and nurturing a love for learning.
- Assist during drop-off, pick-up, lunch breaks, and outdoor play, ensuring smooth transitions and a supportive camp experience.
- Collaborate with fellow instructors, assistants, and administrative staff to ensure a cohesive and successful camp experience for all participants.
- Actively contribute to team discussions and problem-solving efforts to enhance camp activities and address challenges effectively.
- Share insights, feedback, and ideas with the team to continuously improve the quality of the camp program.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, STEM, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of teaching experience in any educational setting.
- Background or experience in STEM disciplines such as block-based coding, robotics, or introductory electronics is highly preferred.
- Strong passion for hands-on, project-based learning and interdisciplinary teaching.
- Enthusiastic, positive, and adaptable, with excellent communication skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively engage with parents, students, and team members.
- Creative and innovative mindset, eager to explore and implement new projects and activities.
- Commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Flexibility and resourcefulness to adapt to the dynamic needs of a hands-on camp setting.
Availability:
- Spring Break S.T.E.A.M. Camp is Monday through Friday from March 17 - 28
- Daily work schedule 7:15 am - 2:45 pm
- Paid preparation and meeting times: additional 2-4 hours per week for the duration of the program.
Salary:
- $24.00 per hour
