JOB DESCRIPTION
Department: Pool
Reports To: Pool Manager, Swim Coach
Classification: Seasonal, Part-Time, Hourly
Job Summary: The employee implements all water safety policies and procedures and supervises members and guests in and around the swimming pool.

Qualifications
Duties (not all listed):
- Vacuums pool bottom
- Skims bugs and other debris from the surface to prepare the pool for daily use and empties automatic skimmer
- Supervises and observes swimmers at all times to ensure their safety.
- Administers minor injuries such as small cuts and bruises of swimmers.
- Checks first aid supplies and reports needed items.
- Maintains amenities and cleanliness of changing rooms, bathrooms, and showers.
- Assists in organizing clinics and private swimming lessons for members as directed by the Swimming Pool Manager.
- Enforces rules of conduct.
- Place the rescue tube and ring buoy on the lifeguard chair in the mornings, and at the end of the day, return these and all swimming aids and pool toys to the lifeguard locker.
- It straightens the pool area at the end of the day.
- Maintains all necessary records determined by the Swimming Pool Manager.
- Attends all meetings as directed by the Swimming Pool Manager.
- Performs all other duties assigned
Physical Demands
During the season, the intensity of this job is elevated, and higher than normal endurance levels may be required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and be on their feet for extended periods. It is necessary to use hands to perform tasks associated with handling equipment. Talking and hearing are critical. The employee must stand, walk, climb, balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.; frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.; and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Salary : $14 - $16
