Location: Hays Office
Pay: $17.61 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time; In-Person
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM

As a Medical Secretary/Receptionist at High Plains Mental Health Center, you’ll play a key role in supporting our medical and nursing staff while ensuring our clients receive the highest level of care.
What You’ll Do:
- Schedule patient appointments, including rescheduling, cancellations, and back-filling.
- Handle telephone calls for physicians and nursing staff, route calls appropriately, and confirm appointments.
- Perform transcription/word processing and data entry for medical assignments.
- Greet and assist clients and the public in a professional and courteous manner as the receptionist for physicians and nurses.
- Process mail, copy documents, and distribute reports as requested.
- Manage correspondence regarding appointments for medical staff (cancellation, confirmation, and intake letters).
- Handle incoming and outgoing faxes.
- Provide reception coverage for other locations as assigned, including Monday evening rotation and Thursday Board Meeting coverage.
- Foster effective working relationships with all employees and support the mission of the center.
Qualifications:
- Completion of the 12th grade or equivalent.
- Minimum two years of experience performing secretary/receptionist duties, including transcription.
- General office and computer skills required.
- Competency in the use of technology, including computers, various software applications, printers, scanners, and telephones.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and the ability to work with technology and equipment.
- Must be able to accept supervision and utilize feedback for work performance improvement.

Requirements:- Minimum requirements include the completion of the 12th grade or its equivalent and two years of experience performing secretary/receptionist duties including transcription.
