Hope Learning Center is seeking a secretary to support the students, families and staff. This person oversees all activities of the front office of the school and assists the principal with several clerical duties.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification: High school diploma or equivalent
Special Knowledge/Skills: Effective organizational skills, Strong communication both written and verbal, Ability to understand and follow detailed written or verbal instructions, Interpersonal skills, Computer skills, Detail oriented, Critical thinking, Accounting or bookkeeping, High accuracy
Experience: Experience not required
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Serve as the receptionist greeting visitors, accepting deliveries, and answering phones.
- Verify clearance to be in the building or initiate a background check on the visitor.
- Operate and maintain office equipment and machines, including but not limited to door buzzer, computers, copy machine, laminating, intercom, paper shredder, district radio, and telephone.
- Ensures coordination and placement of substitute teachers within the building as needed.
- Maintain, update, and file student records, including but not limited to grades, grade cards, enrollment, attendance, discipline, transfer and withdrawal.
- Communicate with students, parents, community and staff to ensure distribution of accurate information, frequently utilizing email, electronic newsletters, and social media.
- Complete reports and related paperwork necessary for the efficient operation of special education programs and to comply with building and district policies.
- Update and maintain forms to be used by the building staff, students, and parents.
- Maintain a building calendar of events/meetings.
- Participate in professional development to ensure proficiency of job skills.
- Data entry
- Provide clerical support to Administrative staff to ensure efficiency in their job functions.
- Maintain confidentiality as appropriate in order to comply with district, state and federal laws.
- Perform other duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the office and building.

Pay: $15.50 - $16.75 per hour
