The Department of Theatre and Dance at High Point University invites applications for an Instructor of Dance position, beginning August 10, 2025.
We seek candidates with an extensive background in dance performance and education who will contribute to the continued growth of our dance program. Qualified applicants should possess a strong technical and historical foundation in jazz, ballet, and modern dance. The successful candidate will demonstrate significant choreographic expertise and ability to teach composition courses.
The ideal candidate will be an innovative educator, mentor, and artist capable of envisioning, defining, implementing, and recruiting for performance programs in both theater and dance.
Responsibilities include :
- Teaching general education and studio courses
- Choreographing and supporting department productions
- Advising students
- Attending department meetings and events
- Participating in university recruitment activities
- Additional teaching and production duties as needed
