Job Summary:
The Majorette Program Director is responsible for overseeing the development, coordination, and execution of a high-quality majorette program. This role involves recruiting and training dancers, choreographing routines, planning performances, and ensuring the overall success and growth of the program. The director will also foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a structured majorette program that aligns with the organization's vision and goals.
- Recruit, audition, and select majorettes for the program.
- Choreograph and teach majorette routines that showcase creativity, skill, and discipline.
- Schedule and conduct regular practices, ensuring students receive proper training in technique and performance.
- Organize and lead performances at competitions, sporting events, parades, and community functions.
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and motivation to participants to foster personal growth and confidence.
- Manage program logistics, including budgeting, securing practice venues, and coordinating travel arrangements for events.
- Collaborate with school administrators, parents, and community organizations to promote program participation and engagement.
- Ensure safety protocols and proper warm-up/cool-down techniques are followed to prevent injuries.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of majorette trends, techniques, and competition rules.
- Develop fundraising and sponsorship initiatives to support the financial needs of the program.
- Handle administrative duties, including attendance tracking, performance evaluations, and program reporting.
Qualifications:
- Experience in majorette, dance, or related performance arts.
- Prior coaching, choreography, or program management experience preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work with diverse age groups and skill levels.
- Knowledge of health and safety practices related to dance training.
- Ability to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 3 – 5 per week
