Job Summary:
The College Preparatory and Leadership Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle and High School Dance Teacher to join our dynamic Fine Arts department. The ideal candidate will inspire creativity, foster an appreciation for dance, and provide rigorous instruction aligned with state standards. This position requires a commitment to engaging students in a variety of dance styles, developing performance opportunities, and collaborating with fellow educators to create a rich, supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality dance instruction to middle and high school students in a variety of genres (e.g., ballet, modern, jazz, hip-hop, cultural dance).
- Develop and implement a standards-based curriculum that supports student learning and creativity.
- Organize and direct school dance performances, showcases, and other events.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
- Assess student progress and provide timely feedback.
- Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and families to support student success.
- Maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment that fosters artistic growth.
- Participate in school-wide events, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (required).
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 (required for licensure eligibility).
- Eligible for a teaching license or currently licensed in Dance Education (or related subject) by the state of North Carolina.
Additional Requirements:
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate students through dance.
- Experience working with middle and/or high school students preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
