- Prepare and manage open and closed session agendas for Board of Education meetings.
- Serve as recording secretary at Board meetings, taking and distributing minutes.
- Oversee the retention, organization, and accessibility of governance and historical records.
- Ensure compliance with public records requests (e.g., FOIA) and district policies.
- Coordinate and publish updates to district policies, procedures, and handbooks.
- Facilitate communication between the Superintendent, Board of Education, district leaders, and community stakeholders.
- Manage board-related correspondence, travel arrangements, meeting logistics, and special projects.
- Support the Superintendent in strategic planning, leadership evaluations, and board reporting.
- Coordinate leadership development programming and workshops for district leaders.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive personnel and student matters.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Proven experience as an Executive/Leader Assistant or similar position.
- Knowledge of Illinois School Code.
- Strong knowledge of board governance, records management, and compliance regulations (FOIA, OMA, State Ethics Act).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of discretion and ability to manage confidential information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and board management software.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
