Our district is comprised of one primary school for kindergarten students, three elementary schools for grades 1-4, two middle schools for grades 5-8, and one high school for grades 9-12.
Position Overview & Responsibilities
Position Overview & Responsibilities This position presents a unique opportunity to support a student with a visual impairment in the Marching Band, starting in March 2025. The primary supports provided include marching with the student, learning the steps, and providing the student with audio or physical cues to guide participation in the activity. This job requires a measure of physical endurance to participate and it is recommended that the person filling this position be physically fit and enjoy being outdoors. It is the expectation of this position to participate in required summer camps, required practices, and required local parade schedules (which include some evenings and weekends). Start Date: March 30, 2025
Contract: Seasonal, STMA Bands - Marching Band schedule (hornline schedule)
Schedule: averages 5-10 hours/week, see schedule for details
FTE: averages 0.125-0.25 (5-10 hours/week)
Salary & Benefits
Starting Rate: $17.86-$22.29 per hour, depending upon experience with the district
No benefit eligibility, other than Earned Safe and Sick Time (ESST) as provided by law.
Requirements & Qualifications
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and two years of post-secondary education or successful completion of the ParaPro; ability to work with staff and an educational team to provide services to students with disabilities; previous experience in working with students or adults with disabilities preferred.
