The Database Architect will be responsible for database architecture, design, creation, optimization, migration, and automation of internal data systems. This includes deriving migration methods for existing data and developing automated conversion and migration processes. In addition, the Database Architect will be responsible for the planning, installation, configuration, maintenance, and production monitoring of database instances.
Roles and Responsibilities :
Ability to design an end-to-end big data solution, including :
database analysis
conceptual / logical / physical models
data migration strategy
data integration strategy
data quality checks
database deployments and configuration management
automated testing, maintenance, query, and analytic support
Ability to diagnose and resolve database performance issues
Work with the development group to ensure the successful adaptation of existing applications to work with the new data solution
Responsible for overall development success (adherence to corporate standards, build process guidelines, maintainability, unit tests) of the project
Work with the development group to design and implement maintenance routines, automated monitoring solutions, backup, and disaster recovery strategy
Requirement :
10 years of experience leading Enterprise-scale data design and implementation
Proven experience in the successful integration of multiple systems and designs
Experience in a consultative environment delivering / interpreting analytical results to business leaders
Expert knowledge of IBM DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, and noSQL data storage technologies
Ability to leverage technical expertise to evaluate, improve, troubleshoot, and create systems architecture
Ability to use industry best practices to design custom, cost-effective solutions to both technical and business problems
Personal Requirements :
Analytical Skills : Ability to take information from multiple inputs and translate it into a usable design
Communication Skills : Must be able to work as part of a team, working with database administrators, data analysts, developers, and management
Attention to Detail : Ability to manage large solutions so that the smaller details are performed correctly, and verified to be correct
Logical Thinking : Ability to take both code and data and break it into logical patterns
Problem-Solving Skills : Ability to look at an issue that needs to be solved and quickly devise efficient solutions
