POSITION: Proposal Coordinator
LOCATION: Cary, NC or Wilmington, NC preferred (may consider one of our other office locations)
*This is an in-office position with occasional opportunities for remote work. We will consider a hybrid schedule for the right candidate. Candidates looking for fully remote work should not apply.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
OVERVIEW: We are looking for a great storyteller to join our service-focused team as Proposal Coordinator! In this role, you will play a lead role in persuading clients to entrust us with critical infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for creating engaging and well-designed statements of qualifications (SOQs) in response to client requests for qualifications (RFQs). You will work closely with our marketing, administrative, and technical staff, as well as subconsultants, to plan and strategize objectives, layout, content, and delivery schedules to present a compelling SOQ that satisfies the RFQ requirements.
TYPICAL ACTIVITES:
- Collaborate with the SVP of Marketing on business development efforts.
- Track and screen RFQ opportunities, assisting with go/no-go decisions.
- Review RFQs to ensure compliance with all submittal and evaluation criteria.
- Lead proposal kickoff meetings, outlining schedules, resources, and responsibilities.
- Develop and manage customized SOQs and interview presentations.
- Work with project managers, technical teams, and subject matter experts to gather content.
- Prepare non-technical proposal materials, including cover letters, resumes, and differentiators.
- Maintain and refine creative SOQ templates to support proposal development.
- Initiate post-pursuit reviews, analyze outcomes, and implement process improvements.
- Update Unanet CRM with key proposal and project data.
- Provide administrative support as needed.

Example pathways for promotion may include Proposal Manager or Marketing Manager. Other growth opportunities may include trade association involvement and specialty software training.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS or BA in Marketing, Communication, or a related field.
- High proficiency in Adobe InDesign and familiarity with full Adobe Creative Suite.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Word and PowerPoint.
- Proven success designing and executing clear, concise, compelling marketing materials.
- Capable of effectively working both independently and in a team environment.
- Capable of simultaneously managing multiple projects with different deadlines.
- Demonstration of excellent writing and editing skills
- Demonstration of excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3 years of experience in developing engineering SOQs, preferably in the Carolinas.
- Intermediate graphic design ability (or the interest and ability to be trained).
- Experienced with Unanet CRM software.
