Delivers high-quality patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
Reports directly to the Director of CCU and Emergency Services.
Key Responsibilities
- Develops and implements a plan of care for patients, including administering medications, collecting specimens, providing clinical treatments, and other medical care interventions.
- Documents all patient care provided, ensuring accurate and timely recording of patient information.
- Monitors and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family as appropriate.
- Assists patients with daily living activities, such as personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluates patient learning needs and provides education to patients and families, taking into account age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Serves as an advocate for patients' physical and emotional well-being.
Qualifications
Minimum Education
Associate Degree, Bachelor Degree, or RN Diploma required.
Required Skills
- Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment are essential, along with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to function effectively in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Required Certifications
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire or must be obtained within 90 days of employment; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) recommended upon hire or must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
- NRP certification required within 90 days of employment.
License
Current TN or Multi-State RN licensure is required.
Minimum Work Experience
One year experience as an RN in a CCU and/or Emergency Services setting is preferred.
