RN-CCU at HighPoint - Riverview Regional Medical Center Overview:
As a Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Care Unit (CCU), you will provide direct patient care using the nursing process, ensuring quality treatment and monitoring of patients. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and facilitate educational support for patients and their families. Your role emphasizes patient advocacy, critical thinking, and the administration of medications and medical treatments.
Description:
You will provide direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
This role reports directly to the Director of CCU and Emergency Services.
You will perform plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatments.
You will document all patient care given.
You will monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
You will assist patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
You will collaborate as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
You will evaluate learning needs of patient and/or family and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
You will work as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education
An Associate Degree, Bachelor Degree, or RN Diploma is required.
Required Skills
Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision are necessary. You must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
American Heart Association or American Red Cross Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) is required upon hire or must be obtained within 90 days of employment. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are recommended on hire or must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
NRP certification is required within 90 days of employment.
License
A current TN or Multi-State RN licensure is required.
Minimum Work Experience
One year experience as an RN in a CCU and/or Emergency Services setting is preferred.
