What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN-Emergency Services position at HighPoint - Riverview Regional Medical Center?
Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process within applicable scope and standards of practice. Experienced RN with good communication and critical thinking skills who will be responsible for coordination of patient flow and liaison for communication among all care providers internally and externally.
Key Responsibilities
Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
Documents patient care given.
Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient and family.
Patient Care
Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition and ambulation.
Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition and circumstances.
Nursing Leadership
Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
Responsibility in supervising nursing and support staff during assigned shift.
Determines staffing level and assignments based on staff availability, staff abilities, census, patient acuity and work/patient flow.
Certifications and Qualifications
Requires American Heart Association or American Red Cross Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire or must be obtained within 90 days of employment, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 12 months of employment and Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) within 12 months of employment.
Tennessee Nursing Professional Certification TNCC and ENPC certifications preferred.
Current Tennessee or Multi-State RN licensure required.
