Overview:
HighRes Biosolutions searching for an Associate Liquid Handling Applications Engineer to join our team at our headquarters in Beverly, Massachusetts. In this role, the individual will be tasked with continuing and improving the growth of our product, the Prime automated liquid handler. The Liquid Handling Automation Engineer will install, develop, and implement the liquid handling and robotic applications of the Prime from the initial system kickoff through the Site Acceptance Testing. This position requires ensuring customer success and providing on-site training and support through project delivery and after system handover. When not tasked with a system related project, the Liquid Handling Automation Engineer will be focused on initiating and supporting projects with the goal of increasing customer success and improving internal processes.
This role requires effective communication and collaboration skills. The individual filling this role must be self-driven with a growth mindset. Their contributions will play a vital role in the success of our customers and to the growth of the team and organization. This position is demanding and rewarding with significant scope for role expansion and growth based on success in the region. This role requires significant Domestic and potentially international travel with the amount of travel that can be between 40% - 60% per year for both local and overnight trips (~100 – 150 days (about 5 months)).

Responsibilities:

Perform instrument installation of the Prime liquid handler and integration of third-party devices.

Perform troubleshooting of application protocols and instrumentation.

Lead and participate in the execution of Factory and Site acceptance testing of automation systems.

Optimize liquid handling performance of Prime.

Provide basic and advanced software and hardware training to customers and internal members of HighRes.

Develop, maintain, and contribute to all types of documentation ranging from customer facing training to internal process development.

Develop, program, and verify application specific protocols on HighRes products by interpreting procedures provided by the customer.

Maintain professional relationships with customers and co-workers.
Qualifications
Qualifications:

B.S. degree in Life Science or Computer Science is required. Preferably in Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, or Robotics.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to overcome unforeseen challenges quickly and effectively.

Strong oral and written communication skills with customers, members of HighRes, and outside vendors.

Ability to work well with multidisciplinary groups within and outside of the organization.

Good knowledge of computer hardware and software.

Excellent time management skills.

Basic proficiency with object-oriented programming languages with an emphasis on C# and Python is required.

Experience programming automated laboratory scientific equipment in high throughput screening, compound management, drug discovery, or research automation setting a plus.

Experience with lab scheduling software for automated systems a plus.

Possess a valid driver’s license, passport for domestic and international travel, and personal transportation required.
