Hiker Trailers, a reputable manufacturer of high-quality trailers, is seeking a dynamic and sales-focused individual to join our team in Columbus, IN as a Sales Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, facilitating sales, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the purchasing process and beyond.
Responsibilities:
- Gain comprehensive knowledge of our trailer products and offerings to effectively communicate features, benefits, and customization options to customers.
- Engage with customers via phone calls, emails, and in-person appointments to address inquiries, provide product information, and guide them through the purchasing process.
- Conduct virtual meetings and presentations to showcase our trailers and assist remote customers with their needs.
- Follow up on online orders and inquiries to provide personalized assistance and support, helping customers make informed decisions and finalize their purchases.
- Manage data entry tasks related to customer orders, inquiries, and interactions to maintain accurate records and ensure timely follow-up.
- Handle cash transactions securely and maintain accurate records for reporting purposes.
- Conduct quality checks on trailers before delivery to ensure they meet our standards and address any issues or concerns proactively.
- Provide thorough instruction to customers on how to hitch up and safely use their trailer during the delivery process.
- Offer ongoing support to customers after trailer delivery, assisting with troubleshooting, technical issues, and any additional needs that may arise.
- Travel to assist with shows and expos as needed.
Qualifications:
- Associates or Bachelor degree preferred but willing to accept experience over education
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data management.
- Previous experience in customer service and sales roles is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with customers.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with cash handling and reporting procedures is a plus.
- Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with trailer operations and maintenance are advantageous.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and technologies.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
