Job Description
This candidate performs desktop support technical work related to all information technology activities of Matagorda County in support of approximately 250 users and 250 endpoints and servers. County infrastructure services and applications are largely onsite or onpremises solutions.
Maintains analyzes troubleshoots and repairs computer systems hardware and computer peripherals. Typical county systems include a mix of desktops and laptops and many of the following functions including but not limited to jail management systems booking court records systems computer aided dispatch payroll appraisal district systems tax and records financial systems remote access systems and other relevant local government systems.
This position will work under the direction of the Matagorda County Information Services Director and should be able to maintain close working relationships with county employees and department heads.
Additionally the Desktop Support Technician should be familiar with the following functions :
- Install and configure computer software hardware and peripheral equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software and hardware issues quickly and efficiently.
- Set up computers and other office equipment for employees.
- Provide steps to help internal users resolve technical problems.
- Maintain technical support procedures and reports.
- Create accounts for new users and assist with password or login problems.
