Title : Desktop Support Technician
Duration : 6 Weeks (Protentional extension possible)
Location : Bay City, Texas 77414. The working position is On Site.
Education : Graduation from an Accredited High School or has a GED.
Summary :
This candidate performs desktop support technical work related to all information technology activities of Matagorda County in support of approximately 250 users and 250 endpoints and servers. County infrastructure, services, and applications are largely onsite or on-premises solutions.
Maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs computer systems, hardware, and computer peripherals. Typical county systems include a mix of desktops and laptops, and many of the following functions, including but not limited to jail management systems, booking, court records systems, computer aided dispatch, payroll, appraisal district systems, tax and records, financial systems, remote access systems, and other relevant local government systems.
Additionally, the Desktop Support Technician should be familiar with the following functions :
- Install and configure computer software, hardware, and peripheral equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software and hardware issues quickly and efficiently.
- Set up computers and other office equipment for employees.
- Provide steps to help internal users resolve technical problems.
- Maintain technical support procedures and reports.
- Create accounts for new users and assist with password or login problems.
