    Assistant Director, Compliance and Staffing


    The Assistant Director, Compliance and Staffing, will provide assistance to the General Director of Exceptional Student Education (ESE) in the provision of services to students with disabilities and their families and to school and district staff, to ensure district processes, procedures, and policies align with federal laws and regulations, Florida Statutes, and State Board of Education rules. The Assistant Director, Compliance and Staffing, will direct all activities related to the monitoring of the district’s compliance to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

    Qualifications:

    Education: A master’s degree is required. Degree or formal training in Exceptional Student Education and/or one of the following preferred: Educational Leadership, Administration and Supervision, or School Principal.

    Experience: Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in classroom teaching, with three (3) years of related management or supervisory experience preferred. Exceptional Student Education preferred.

    Certificates/Licenses/Registrations: Florida Professional Educator Certificate: Educational Leadership, School Principal, or Administration and Supervision is required for this position.
    An appointee who possesses subject area certification but does not possess appropriate administrative certification (Ed. Leadership) will be given four (4) years from date of appointment to obtain appropriate administrative certification.
