Job Profile
The Head Compounding Pharmacist will lead the development and growth of compounding capabilities, focusing on maximizing quality and patient safety. This role requires expertise in sterile compounding and adherence to federal and state pharmacy regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Direct supervision of compounding personnel, emphasizing infection-control protocols and a clean work environment.
- Accurate documentation of compounding procedures, quality assurance/quality control checks, and dispensing of compounded preparations.
- Training and evaluation of compounding personnel, promoting a culture of knowledge sharing and empathy.
- Material review and approval for compounding, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Equipment calibration, maintenance, and operation to support compounding efforts and maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaboration with R&D teams to develop and scale up new compounded formulations.
- Adherence to safety guidelines, including CFR 210 and 211, BOP, and FDA 503B regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy.
- At least 5 years of pharmacist experience, with 3 years in compounding pharmacy.
- Active Pharmacist License in California.
- Sterile compounding experience required.
- Ability to wear required compounding safety equipment.
