Job Type : PermanentBuild a brilliant future with HiscoxAVP, Regional Manager - Entertainment Job Responsibilities : Talent Development : Participate in the identification and hiring of underwriting talent to the team.Train new Underwriter using the outlined Field UW Onboarding Best PracticesLead, develop and manage a team of high-performing Field Underwriters across the regions for the product, building a team 'esprit de corps' and connectivity, and focusing their efforts to achieve growth and profitability goalsRetention and Talent Development -desired behaviors to elevated performance, upskill talent as necessaryProfitable Growth : Working closely with our product leaders to drive strategy within the POD'sExecute national plans for Entertainment practice area : execute marketing initiatives, actively manage broker relationships at the practice lead level, individual underwriter and team lead level, drive new business growth activity, and meet / exceed budget expectationsProvide weekly updates to Regional Executives via huddles and huddle boardsProvide monthly report to Regional Executives on YTD plan and forecasting.Manage Underwriting bins to capitalize on Q2B ratio and manage UW productivity to achieve monthly quote goalsPlay a key role in how the plan will be executed i.e. steering the underwriters towards the most profitable submissions and managing messaging to brokers to emphasize in appetite submissionsObtain senior level underwriting authority, actively underwrite accounts and assume responsibility for taking underwriting referrals for their team. This will empower them through more credibility with brokers through in-the-field authority decisions while with brokers and drive more efficient delivery of quotes by not having to send referrals to others.Liaise with Product Head and CUO on complex referralsPortfolio Management : Oversee and be accountable for the portfolio of Entertainment accounts nationallyExecution of product management strategies with underwriters and brokers to achieve profitable growth.Drive rate and book mix in accordance with business planClass entries, re-pricing and exitsAnalyze reports to aid in portfolio underwriting, identify specific growth and loss drivers and make data-driven recommendations for portfolio improvement.Partner with product leaders, systems, actuarial and compliance to determine what enhancements are necessary to existing products and sales path, reposition existing products in the marketplace and recommend addition products, as needed.Ensure UW disciplines are adhered to to achieve satisfactory Technical Underwriting Review and Peer Review scores.Sales and Broker Management : Tweak 'standard' sales practices for product-specific uniqueness and deploy the consistent sales practice and monitoring process to ensure results are met.Responsible for building and maintaining UW pipelines to feed workflow nationallyMaintain a strategic travel regimen for all UWs and provide quarterly marketing strategy to Regional ExecutiveBe visible nationally : be known by practice leads, be a visible voice on media, broker presentations, industry conferences, drive marketing and new business development with our brokers.Actively manage renewal workflows nationally and drive favorable outcomes on a proactive basis, deploying standardized tools, to secure maximum retentionOversee underwriting, pricing and negotiating of accounts to win new business and retain renewals, consistent with Hiscox underwriting guidelines and profitability targets.
