Incoming Inspector

Hitachi Rail seeks an enthusiastic and self-motivated Incoming Inspector who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic.

About the Role

This position involves inspecting Commercial off the Shelf items (COTS), electronic assemblies, castings & machined components for various qualities such as dimensions, workmanship, compliance with Hitachi drawings and technical specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect COTS items, electronic assemblies, castings & machined components for quality
• Create Quality Notifications (QN) and quarantine Non-Conforming product
• Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) and record findings
• Record inspection results in SAP
• Assist in gathering department assets for weekly calibration

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent plus 3 years of incoming inspection experience or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• CMM Certification (PC-DMIS Software)
• Experience using common measuring tools
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
• Proficient use of Microsoft office suite: Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Able to make decisions regarding product acceptance
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated nature
