The Hockomock Area YMCA is hiring a School Age Site Director for a school location in Bellingham, MA. The Site Director is responsible for programming and supervision of the School Age licensed program and plans and implements a program of activities that ensures each child’s safety and provides entertainment and learning experiences. This position works a flexible split shift to be determined by candidate and leadership. Morning hours start at 6:45am. Afternoon hours end at 6pm.
Essential Functions
- Ensures EEC regulations are followed at all times
- Develops, supervises, and implements a developmentally appropriate curriculum plan during before and after school and half days, while including enrichment activities, indoor and outdoor time, physical activity, health and nutrition, STEM, and homework
- In programs with less than 52 children, provides direct care to a group of children to maintain ratio
- Establishes a supportive and positive environment for staff, children, and families
- Treats children with dignity and respect, recognizing individuality and diversity
- Interviews, hires, trains, and schedules staff, ensuring proper ratios are met
- Supervises site staff, documenting observations and feedback and providing written evaluation of their work performance
- Reviews and approves time cards for direct reports
- Provides direction and guidance to staff
- Conducts staff meetings
- Ensures proper maintenance of equipment and work and play areas
- Responsible for inventory and ordering supplies and snacks
- Communicates regularly with staff and supervisor
- Is available to families during program hours for concerns and issues that arise
- Ensures all staff greet each child and caregiver each day as they enter and exit the program
- Effectively communicates program schedule and policies to families
- Submits required attendance weekly and EEC logs and reports monthly for administrative review
- Maintains the necessary records involving attendance, program registrations, and documents required for state licensing
- Ensures that proper release procedures are followed and appropriate identification is shown
- Attends back-to-school nights and holds at least two family events for site during the school year
- Reports accidents and injuries, and completes incident reports as needed
- Arrives on time and prepared
- Partners with school personnel to coordinate efforts, share Y stories, and build relationships
- Participates in professional development, complying with the licensing requirement of a minimum of 20 hours of training per year and furthering knowledge in the field
- Provides support to YMCA Branch and Association Special Events
- Supports and promotes Reach Out For Youth & Families Scholarship Campaign
