Job Title: Customer Service Representative
Reports to: Operations Manager
General Responsibilities: This position is primarily responsible for the managing of customer accounts in all aspects of transportation and ensuring we provide the best service supporting their requirements. Customer Service Representatives are responsible for assisting customers with a variety of inquires including freight tenders, hot shipments, shipment tracing and appointments or special requests.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Work closely with customers to act as the customer’s internal advocate and help ensure we provide excellent service
- Accept tenders for Hoekstra Transportation
- Complete order entry in transportation management system
- Appointments on loads
- Reschedules of appointments, when necessary
- Track and update changes to orders
- Submit charges
- Request and track approvals
- Update customer portals timely and accurately
- Resolve EDI errors timely
- Work closely with the Operations Team to ensure customer objectives are being attained
- Complete periodic service reports for customers
- Review customer scorecards and identify and communicate areas of improvement
- Maintain excellent communication with external and internal customers

Job Qualifications:
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Programs
- Excellent keyboarding skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and has excellent attention to detail
- Solid communication and customer service skills, verbal and written
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
- Ability to thrive under deadlines, drive results, multi-task, and work with a sense of urgency
- Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively with the rest of the team
