Position Summary:

We are seeking an Automotive Service Manager to join our team and lead our service department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leadership, sales and customer service. Automotive repair experience is desired but not required. Must possess the ability to manage, motivate, and lead our team to deliver exceptional service. You will play a key role in maintaining our reputation for honesty and quality, ensuring that each customer receives the best possible care and service. This role is pivotal in driving our business growth, customer satisfaction, and team development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 4-6 service technicians and 2-3 service advisors to ensure all target KPI’s and standards are met.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performance work environment.
  • Conduct daily and weekly training sessions to enhance team skills, product knowledge, and customer service techniques.
  • Create and maintain a culture. Values and systems
  • Customer Interaction and Satisfaction:
  • Ensure every customer is treated with hospitality and respect, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment.
  • Provide clear, honest, and transparent communication about vehicle repairs, maintenance needs, and service options.
  • Resolve customer concerns and complaints promptly, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Service Management and Efficiency:
  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of the service department, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Implement and maintain effective service processes to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
  • Monitor and manage service schedules, ensuring timely completion of work orders and minimizing customer wait times.
  • Sales and Profitability:
  • Achieve sales targets by effectively presenting and selling appropriate services and repair options to customers.
  • Maintain a focus on profitability while upholding the company’s commitment to honesty and integrity.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase customer retention, repeat business, and referral rates.
  • Quality Control and Safety:
  • Ensure all repairs and services are performed to the highest quality standards, adhering to company and industry guidelines.
  • Monitor and enforce safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Specific KPIs:
  • Objectives: Regularly track and review KPIs to ensure alignment with business objectives and drive continuous improvement.
  • Car Count: Monitor the number of cars serviced daily, weekly, and monthly, aiming for a 10% increase year-over-year.
  • Total Sales: Track total sales revenue, targeting a 15% increase year-over-year.
  • Total Gross Profit Dollars: Measure the total gross profit generated, with a target increase of 12% year-over-year.
  • Hours Flagged: Track the number of hours flagged by technicians, aiming to maximize efficiency and utilization.
  • Hours per R.O. (Repair Order): Measure the average hours billed per repair order, targeting an increase of 5% annually.
  • Gross Profit Dollars per Hour: Calculate the gross profit generated per hour worked, with a target to increase by $5 per hour annually.Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in automotive repair, preferably in Fixed Operations and/or Service Management.
  • Proven track record in automotive repair estimating and generating repair orders.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
  • Positive attitude, integrity, and commitment to high standards of work.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
